About This Policy

Field Assembly LLC ("Field Assembly," "we," "us," or "our") is a Massachusetts limited liability company that publishes free reference works. This policy describes what happens to information when you visit fieldassembly.net.

The short version: this is a static website. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy, and no form to fill in. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and makes no requests to any other company's servers. What follows is mostly an explanation of how little there is to describe.

Our reference works are published on their own domains, and each carries its own policy. This one covers fieldassembly.net only.

1. What This Site Collects

Nothing you type, because there is nowhere to type. The site has no contact form, no search box, no comment field, no account, and no newsletter signup. If you write to us at the address below, we have your email and whatever you chose to put in it, because that is how email works.

Ordinary web server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare, Inc. records the routine information any web server records in order to serve a page and defend itself against attack:

• the IP address the request came from
• the date and time of the request
• the page or file requested
• the browser and operating system your browser reports
• the referring page, if your browser sent one

We do not build profiles from these logs, do not connect them to any person, and do not use them for advertising or measurement. They exist so the site can be delivered and so abusive traffic can be blocked.

These logs are held by Cloudflare under its own retention schedule and privacy policy rather than ours, and we do not export, copy, or retain them separately. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

2. Cookies and Browser Storage

This site sets no cookies. Not essential ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. It also writes nothing to localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other browser storage.

There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. If you ever see one here, something has changed and this policy should have changed with it.

Until August 26, 2026 the privacy and terms pages carried a consent banner that wrote a value to localStorage. It was left over from the consultancy site, it was the only browser storage anywhere on the site, and it asked you to accept cookies that did not exist. It has been removed.

3. Third Parties and Off-Site Requests

Loading a page here contacts no company other than our host. There is no analytics service, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session replay, no embedded video, no chat widget, and no social button.

Since August 29, 2026 the site downloads no fonts at all, on any page: it is set in the type already on your device. Until August 26, 2026 fonts were loaded from Google Fonts, which meant your IP address reached Google on every page view; they were then hosted on this domain, and are now not fetched at all.

That leaves exactly one third party: Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the site and therefore necessarily receives the request. Nothing else.

The reference works quote institutions' published documents and link to the originals, because a citation you cannot check is not a citation. Following one of those links takes you to a site we do not run, whose practices are its own.

4. Selling and Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the preceding twelve months. We have no mechanism to do so and no intention of building one.

Because nothing is sold or shared, there is no opt-out to offer, and browser signals such as Global Privacy Control have nothing to act on here. We honor them by not being in that business.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information a company holds about you, and to appeal a refusal.

We hold essentially nothing to act on. If you have written to us, we hold that email. Ask us at [email protected] and we will tell you what we have and delete it if you want it deleted.

We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a further 45, which is the outside limit under most state privacy laws. We will not ask you to create an account or prove your identity beyond what is necessary to answer honestly. If we decline a request, we will say why, and you may appeal by replying to that message; we will answer an appeal within 60 days.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Beyond that, the honest description of our security posture is that the best protection for information is not to collect it, which is the approach taken here.

We make no claim to "bank-level" or "industry-standard" security, because those phrases mean nothing specific and a claim we could not defend would be its own problem.

7. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, children included. If you believe a child has sent us information by email, write to us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

If what the site does changes, this policy changes first, and the "Updated" date at the top changes with it. We review it at least once a year whether or not anything has changed.

This policy replaced one dated April 17, 2026 that described a consultancy and products that no longer exist. That is recorded here rather than quietly overwritten, because a policy that has been wrong before should say so.
