Plate I · Real Estate Developer Assembly

Anatomy of a
Custom Assembly.

Fig. A

This plate is organized around the work itself: finding a project, understanding it, planning it, doing it, and remembering it afterward. A developer moves through all five, across several projects at once.

The software, the website, the calendar, the automations, sit inside the work as materials. Read the drawing slowly. The longer you look, the more of the week you can see.

Fig. A — five parts of the work, twelve materials, one core. Each material is only a material on its own; assembled together, they are the place a developer works. The numbered callouts key to the legend below; the dashed red lines (1–3) trace the few materials that serve more than one part of the work.
Margin

At the center is a person. Everything here is arranged so the business leans on that person a little less each week.

Margin

Five parts of the work, twelve materials, one week. Most of it happens without anyone opening a folder.

Margin

Notice what points back toward the core, and what quietly points from one part of the work into another.

LegendThe work, in five parts

The work, and the materials each part is built from.

Read the plate and the legend together. Each entry names a part of the work and what happens there; the materials are how it gets done. On another business these would carry different materials. This is one developer’s.

A

Finding Work

Where a job first arrives, and how it is won.

1
Website
The public place a prospect meets the developer, showing work that matches the business as it is today.
2
Proposal System
Where a bid becomes a document, assembled from prior jobs and priced from real numbers, out the same day it is promised.
3
CRM
Where leads and past clients are held, with the next follow-up kept for the developer so it stops living in their head.
B

Understanding Work

Where the developer learns exactly what a project asks for.

4
Knowledge Library
Specs, product data, and past details, where the answer to “how did we do that last time” is written down and easy to find.
5
AI Assistant
Trained on the developer’s own material, answering the repeat questions from clients and vendors in the developer’s own words.
C

Planning Work

Where the project is put into time and onto paper.

6
Calendar
Site visits, deliveries, and inspections in one line of sight, so the team and the client see the same dates.
7
Documents
Contracts, estimates, and change orders that assemble from what is already known, ready the moment a client asks.
D

Doing Work

Where the project actually happens, day to day.

8
Clients
Each client has a portal where their project, messages, and approvals gather in a single current view.
9
Email
Correspondence with clients and vendors, kept with the project so its whole history stays together.
10
Automation
The quiet steps between events: a signed approval updates the schedule and the invoice on its own.
E

Remembering Work

Where the business keeps what it has done.

11
Photography
The site recorded, attached to the project and the client’s portal where it was taken, so the record builds itself.
12
Dashboards
A clear view of every open job, drawn straight from where the work already lives.
Cross-references

A few materials belong to more than one part of the work. Photography sits in Remembering Work, yet reaches back into Doing Work: the same photo that records progress attaches to the approval written against it.1

The AI assistant lives in Understanding Work, yet the answers it gives are drawn from the Knowledge Library and returned into Client conversations. One material, working in three.2

Drawn from one developer’s week.

A representative week, assembled from recurring field observations. Times and details are composite.

Footnotes
  1. The photograph is one material doing two jobs: it is evidence in Remembering Work and attachment in Doing Work. Assemblies are full of these small economies.
  2. An assistant is only as good as the library behind it. In this plate, material 5 leans entirely on material 4.
  3. The core is drawn dark on purpose. It is a person, and the whole plate is arranged around the hours of their week.

This is one plate. Yours would be drawn differently.

The Real Estate Developer Assembly is a single answer to a single question: what happens here? The work stays; the materials change from one business to the next. If you can already picture where your own plate would snag, that is where to start.
