The work, recorded where it happened.
In an assembly a photograph is a fact that belongs in more than one place at once. The image that records a wall attaches to the change order written against it, so recording and documenting become a single act.
It exists because businesses capture constantly, sites and signatures and measurements, and then move those captures by hand, from the phone to the job to the invoice, remembering each time.
What changes when it is assembled
One capture, connected, counts everywhere it is true. The photograph simply became attached to the work it documents. The record builds itself as a by-product of the work rather than a second task after it.
The tell is any capture a business makes and then relocates by hand. Each is a fact doing one job that could be doing two.
